Pesche al vino rosso
Italian style red wine poached peaches are the perfect dessert for summer dinners. Very easy to do, it was a classic of the 80's Italian cuisine.
Here I give you the recipe in three easy steps.
(for 4 servings)
4 peaches or nectarines
1 cup of water
1 cup red wine
1/3 cup sugar
zest of a lemon
cinnamon powder to taste
To prepare the syrup, which is used to marinate peaches, put the sugar and cinnamon powder, lemon zest, wine and water in a saucepan.
Bring to a boil and allow the mixture to reduce until half the volume of liquid is obtained. Allow the syrup to cool down.
Cut the peaches into slices and leave to marinate (for at least 2 hours in the refrigerator) in the syrup to which you have added the lemon juice.
